Īfter bringing the right-hand drive prototype to the U.S., Odagaki won the support of American Honda. By April 1991, Odagaki won permission to develop a prototype. The team worked to convince management of the project's viability, using extensive illustrations, a one-quarter scale model and a full-size foam model. Odagaki conceived the idea of the third-row seat folding into a floor compartment, and he worked with his team to include a "center aisle." The team determined a minimum interior height of 1.2 meters to retain the aisle and favored a design with a low floor - to provide ease of passenger entry and exit, easy garage-ability, low roof-loading height, as well as enhanced productivity on the assembly line. Odagaki continued working with an "underground" team, using as its design credo the concept of a "personal jet" - which in turn led to the car's original PJ concept code-name. At the project's inception, the team was considering variations for the project from 4-cylinder to V6 alternatives, when the project was canceled. in September 1990 with a small sub-team to conduct a review of the U.S. In the course of developing the Odyssey, it became paramount to circumvent these obstacles and conceive a feasible interior package that could use existing manufacturing facilities with minimal investment. The Odyssey was engineered by Kunimichi Odagaki, then a chief engineer at the Honda's Research and Development Center, along with a team of 20 members - in the wake of Japan's recession of the early 1990s and the possibility of a 25-percent tariffs if the minivans were imported to the U.S. Isuzu offered a rebadged version of the Odyssey from 1996 to 1999 as the Isuzu Oasis. The EX accommodated six passengers (using two removable second row captain's chairs in lieu of the bench) and offered additional equipment including a roof rack, alloy wheels, power driver's seat height adjustment, power moonroof, remote keyless entry system, fog lights (later model years), body-colored side moldings and mirrors, map lights, and 200-watt AM/FM/cassette six-speaker audio system. The LX accommodated seven passengers with two front buckets, a removable three-seat middle bench, and a 2-seat third row bench. Honda marketed the first-generation Odyssey in two trim levels. The design featured unibody construction, dual airbags, dual gloveboxes, dual zone heating and cooling with 20 percent greater capacity than an Accord's system (overhead rear fan-speed adjustment control, and main control switch over the front-seat passenger), conventional rear swing-open rather than sliding doors, and a third row seat that could fold and tumble into a compartment beneath the floor - the spacesaver spare tire carried inside, on the right, rear wall of the cabin. This class of vehicles would subsequently become known as Compact MPV. The 1995 Odyssey was introduced in 1994 as Honda's first minivan - based on the Accord platform, with a 4-cylinder engine, all-disc anti-lock braking, all wishbone suspension, and a four-speed automatic transmission with a steering-column-mounted shifter and a hill-hold feature, marketed as Grade Logic. Both versions of the Odyssey are currently sold in the Middle East. Both versions of the Odyssey were sold in Japan at Honda Clio dealership locations. ![]() Honda also offered the larger North American Odyssey in Japan as the LaGreat (ラグレイト, Ragureito) beginning in June 1999 through 2005. Since model year 1999, Honda has marketed a larger (large MPV-class) Odyssey in North America and a smaller Odyssey in Japan and other markets. Subsequent generations diverged to reflect market variations, and Honda built a plant in Lincoln, Alabama, United States, incorporating the ability to manufacture larger models. The first generation Odyssey was marketed in Europe as the Honda Shuttle. The result was a smaller minivan, in the compact MPV class, that was well received in the Japanese domestic market and less well received in North America. The Odyssey had originally been conceived and engineered in Japan, in the wake of the country's economic crisis of the 1990s – which in turn imposed severe constraints on the vehicle's size and overall concept, dictating the minivan's manufacture in an existing facility with minimal modification. For the North American market, the Honda Odyssey, is a minivan manufactured and marketed by Japanese automaker Honda since 1994, now in its fifth generation, which began in 2018. ![]() Employing such co-valorization tactics can indeed address current drawbacks of the OER by increasing revenues and the value proposition of the overall process. By coupling worthwhile oxidation reactions at the anode with cathode electrosynthesis, industries can leverage existing infrastructure for purification, distribution, and waste-management, and even produce feedstock chemicals required for parallel processes housed at the same facility. These reactions can tackle a range of objectives including raw chemical generation (e.g.H2O2), waste oxidation, and molecule upgrade. In light of these limitations, several OER alternatives have been proposed to decrease energy consumption and/or generate high-value products that can offset operation costs and improve sustainability. ![]() Nevertheless, the bulk of current electrolyzer designs rely on the traditional oxygen evolution reaction (OER) to extract electrons from water, which has been expensive, location limited, high-risk, and generates low value (O2) product. To label the voltaic cell, start by writing out the half-reactions that occur at each half-cell and look up the standard reduction potentials. Understanding and advancing the water-energy-climate nexus is key to mitigating the immense threats of climate change and solving many of the related environmental issues we face today. ![]() The game also features original music by Tee Lopes (League of Legends, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge). Metal Slug Tactics retains the same style of 2D artwork as the originals, with similarly ostentatious animation, but the gameplay appears to be a cross between Advance Wars and Final Fantasy Tactics. Metal Slug Tactics retains the bright and colorful pixel-art comic book style that has made the original series so recognizable and iconic. Of course, players have access to all of Metal Slug’s traditional weapons, so there will be gunfights and explosions aplenty as you face some of Metal Slug's iconic enemies. Thankfully, players can also use new gameplay elements such as combos, artillery support, skill trees, perks, and an adrenaline system that can fuel a devastating super attack. ![]() Spin-off games include a third-person shooter. Metal Slug Tactics randomized levels represent a significant gameplay change, but the games pace that may prove even more surprising. Players will command series heroes across grid-divided battlefields, outmaneuver foes, and achieve objectives. Platform(s): Nintendo Switch, PC Genre: RPG/Strategy. Metal Slug Tactics promises a turn-based role-playing and strategic adventure, a marked departure from the series’ traditional action-centric gameplay. Metal Slug Tactics is a fresh take on the iconic series adapting its signature shoot em up action to tactical, grid-based battlefields. This silence has muddied the waters, leaving the game’s current status shrouded in mystery. The official websites of Dotemu, the game’s publisher, and Leikir Studio, the developer, have been bereft of updates since the postponement. Since the delay announcement, there has been a significant dearth of updates about the game’s progress. However, the launch was deferred to 2023, stirring up speculation and uncertainty about its actual release. This spin-off, announced at the Summer Game Fest 2021, was initially slated for a 2022 release on PC and Switch. Marking a notable shift from its adrenaline-fueled origins, Metal Slug Tactics is set to infuse the classic run-and-gun series by SNK with a strategic, measured pace. Metal Slug Tactics: A Strategic Spin-off Shrouded in Mystery ![]() In our latest experiment, scientists in China followed a technique suggested by me in 2007 to reconstruct the hypothesised motion of the quantum particles, from many different possible starting points across both slits, and for both results of the measurement. In fact, the theory behind our experiment was one in which both wave and particle nature are manifest - the wave guides the motion of the particle according to the interpretation introduced by theoretical physicist David Bohm, a generation after Heisenberg. How is this possible? Well, because quantum particles are not really just particles. Rather it is delayed until the particle is well past the slits, on the way towards the far field. We saw what others have missed because this velocity disturbance doesn’t happen as the particle goes through the measurement device. ![]() We don’t have to get into what they claimed was the mechanism for destroying interference, because our experiment has shown there is an effect on the velocity of the particle, of just the size Heisenberg predicted. Hence, they argued, it is not Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle that explains the loss of interference, but some other mechanism. Any measurement that gives different results depending on which slit the particle goes through will do.Īnd they came up with a device whose effect on the particle is not that of a random velocity kick as it goes through. What the eminent quantum physicists realised is that finding out which slit the particle goes through doesn’t require a position measurement as such. We know the answer is no, and Heisenberg’s explanation was that if the position measurement is accurate enough to tell which slit the particle goes through, it will give a random disturbance to its velocity just large enough to affect where it ends up in the far field, and thus wash out the ripples of interference. Wikimedia/NekoJaNekoJa/Johannes Kalliauer, CC BY-SAīut what if we put a measuring device near the barrier to find out which slit the particle goes through? Will we still see the interference pattern? ![]() There are bands (dark) where they are more likely to show up separated by bands (light) where they are less likely to show up. ![]() Particles going through two slits at once form an interference pattern on a screen in the far field. The signature of this is the so-called “interference pattern”: ripples in the distribution of where the particle is likely to be found at a screen in the far field beyond the slits, meaning a long way (often several metres) past the slits. Since we can’t know which slit the particle goes through, it acts as if it goes through both slits. We also have a quantum particle with a position uncertainty large enough to cover both slits if it is fired at the barrier. In this type of experiment there is a barrier with two holes or slits. We show a velocity disturbance - of the size expected from the Uncertainty Principle - always exists, in a certain sense.īut before getting into the details we need to explain briefly about the two-slit experiment. Heisenberg used the Uncertainty Principle to explain how measurement would destroy that classic feature of quantum mechanics, the two-slit interference pattern (more on this below).īut back in the 1990s, some eminent quantum physicists claimed to have proved it is possible to determine which of the two slits a particle goes through, without significantly disturbing its velocity.ĭoes that mean Heisenberg’s explanation must be wrong? In work just published in Science Advances, my experimental colleagues and I have shown that it would be unwise to jump to that conclusion. But this measurement would necessarily disturb its velocity, by an amount inversely proportional to the accuracy of the position measurement. For example, measuring the particle’s position would allow us to know its position. ![]() And for whatever reason, it would take me slightly to kill the Ghost Leviathans, but that could just be me. The survival knife does half the damage, so using stasis rifle + knife will take twice as long on them. ![]() This is true (they have 5000 HP), but the Sea Dragon can't be harmed by the thermal knife. Reapers, Ghosts, and Sea Dragons all have the same amount of health so they should all take the same amount of time to kill. I did this as an optional challenge on my last hardcore playthrough. It is possible to kill every Leviathan from the game and permanently remove them from the world. And since there are only 3 Ghost Leviathans in Subnautica, they’re easy to avoid. Plus, the Ghost Leviathans don’t drop anything valuable, so it’s best to just let them be. The bioluminescent structure and a hammerhead shark-like head send chills down the spine when they charge toward you. It only takes about 2 minutes to kill them, with some additional time for the Sea Dragons. The Ghost Leviathans are haunting to look at. There are a total of three Sea Dragon Leviathans on the map: two in the Inactive Lava Zone and one in the Lava Lakes. It is the largest aggressive creature of Subnautica. Reapers will be killed after 4-5 rounds, Ghost Leviathans after 5-6, and Sea Dragons after 10-12 if you're using the regular knife. The Sea Dragon Leviathan is a colossal leviathan class fauna species. You can get in about 25 hits of the knife per stun if you are positioned right. If the player stays in the Crater Edge for thirty seconds, a second Ghost Leviathan will spawn. If the player enters the Crater Edge, a single adult Ghost Leviathan spawns in. Subnautica will be a horror, even though it wants to be. Three adult Ghost Leviathans spawn on the map (not counting the infinite number found in the Crater Edge ): two in the Grand Reef, and one in the Northern Blood Kelp Zone. Look at true horrors and figure which is better. There has to be a tense feeling like at any moment something can just come up and give you a bad day. Remember to charge up the stasis rifle before you fire for much longer stun periods - this is something a lot of people seem to overlook. There are horror elements, there is no doubt about that, but this game isn’t a true horror game. I hope others can continue testing as well so we can get definitive answers, or that these tests have inspired other ideas to test with the leviathans.Originally posted by admiral1018:You can kill them all quite easily with the stasis rifle + thermal knife (or just regular knife for the Sea Dragon since he's immune to the thermal knife).
